I’m not even close to getting to the Eucharist in my series on the elements of worship, but Halden has a great thought on the "wasted time" of partaking of the Eucharist in worship. No wonder so many people down through the years have had trouble figuring out why partaking of communion is so important: we aren’t obviously "changing the world" or doing anything outwardly important. It’s a blow to our pride, really, to simply and humbly receive from God.
