Our two youngest daughters (4 and 2) were in the bathtub today. The conversation went like this
Ella: "Eww! Stop! Mom, Syd’s showing her butt at me!"
Sydney (pausing to look at her butt): "I like my butt."
Deb is pleased that Sydney seems to have a healthy self-image. I am pleased that she has a firm grasp of the goodness of creation 😉
Yikes! Mine are 4 & 5, and the fascination with butts and potty talk never seems to end! Never thought of it in terms of celebrating the goodness of creation — I’ll have to remember that the next time I’m tempted to send one of them to their room for the next 10 years!
I’m thinking Sydney must be watching those Dove commercials. ;o)
That’s hillarious. It really must be the dove commercials 🙂
Thing is, I don’t think she’s ever seen one of the commercials – I guess she just “untainted” so far, and can still take delight in her creaturely-ness.
This is a cute age. Right now Ava likes to show me her butt and say, “See my butt!”. That could be a problem later on in life…
