My previous post was about how Radiohead was changing the music industry game by selling their new CD directly from their website without a record company.
In a similar vein, I find the way Real Live Preacher is selling his books to be a breath of fresh air. Everyone gets a random gift with their book, as well as a personal note from RLP after he’s looked at their house on a satellite image (like "Hey man, what’s that thing in your backyard? A chicken coop?"). The whole thing made me smile, makes me want to buy a book from him (I don’t even know what the book is about!), and it seems to me a refreshingly personal and human way to sell books.
