I read a great article today about how one person is engaging politics as an evangelical. In John Howard Yoder (the late Mennonite theologian and ethicist) the author (Tim Kumfer) finds a way to think about and act in the political system that seems to be a "third way" between the thought of Jim Wallis and that of Shane Claiborne.
It's a long article, but a good one if you have some time:
Between Sojourners and The Simple Way: Rethinking Radical, Evangelical Politics in '08 with John Howard Yoder
A very good article and perspective.
I’ve noticed a lot more thinking this time around as to what a government is, what the church is, etc…
But I’ve also noticed a lot more thoughtlessness too! Especially in terms of the name-calling, bickering, character-smearing, and and violent language I’ve heard.
Yes…I’ve been on the receiving end of some of that. yikes. i have never gotten so many nasty political forwards. two steps forward, two steps back??
