Lately I’ve been downloading podcasts from a radio show called This American Life and listening through them while I’m in my car.
The episodes are consistently hilarious, thoughtful, and informative. They do stuff that’s "serious" as well as "light." For example, they had a show awhile back called The Audacity of Government that details some of the shocking power grabs the administration has been engaging in recently. Then there was another one called What I Learned From Television that had me laughing for almost the whole hour. I’m right in the middle of one now (The Big Pool Of Money) that explains how we got into the mortgage crisis we’re in now (it’s fascinatingly complex).
Anyway, I’m finding it a great way to unwind, and thought I’d share. You can download episodes from their website, or sign up for their podcast.
What have you been listening to lately?

I would whole-heartedly agree. I’m a regular listener of This American Life via they’re podcasts since I listen to talk radio type stuff all day long at work. I think one small step above This American Life is Radio Lab (http://www.wnyc.org/shows/radiolab/). They incorporate some very creative sound design into their broadcast. I love both of them.

I love This American Life! It's been one of my favorites for a long time. I also love Fresh Air, Talk of The Nation, and Science Friday. I am totally an NPR geek. 🙂
