I mentioned Sunday that part of being a people through whom God’s future arrives in the present is doing justice in the world. Along those lines, several evangelical leaders have signed a petition asking our government to do more to stop the genocide in Darfur. Head over to the Evangelicals for Darfur website to sign the petition. You can also find more information about the situation in Darfur, as well as more ways to get involved in stopping the genocide.
Also, if you see this in time– Omer Ismail, a Darfuri man, will be featured in a story about the crisis in Darfur on 60 Minutes tonight, October 22, at 7 PM on CBS.
So glad to see you posted this. We’ve done so on our blog as well.
I just wanted to thank you for your messages the last 2 weeks. You really put a lot of things into perspective. You were right in the fact that alot of people really don’t have an idea what our future holds. I’ve been in “church” my entire life. I didn’t have a clear picture of heaven and what it would be like. I feel challenged to do what I can to bring God’s Kingdom to others.
Lori- I missed the show, unfortunately.
CindyH- It’s worth getting the word out on this kind of stuff, isn’t it?
Amy- I’m glad it’s been helpful. I hope we can move forward in living it out. Peace!
