The books I ordered for my Master’s program arrived today. Here’s a picture (click to enlarge and read the very interesting titles!)
I’ll end up reading those for the first two modules (plus others in libraries, etc). The first two modules are called "Hermeneutics" and "Theology of the Poor". A third module on the Holy Spirit and spiritual gifts awaits me after I finish these two.
Starting late March, I’ll be teaching a class at Heartland on how to interpret the Bible, in conjunction with some of my studies. I’m looking forward to getting involved in the academic world again, daunting as the task seems some days!
I am afaird it is time to start mt M Div as well.
Looking forward to your thoughts about ‘Exclusion and Embrace’…
I think the title of Slaves, Women, and Homosexuals is an interesting title. It’s kinda like what we talked about in youth group awhile ago, how Jesus hung out with some of the people looked down on in society. Back then it was slaves and women, and now it’s homosexuals. Some of the other people we came up with as being looked down on in this age, were used car dealers and terrorists.
Josh- hope the MDiv goes well!
Carol- I may not get to that one for awhile, I think I do the biblical interpretation stuff first. But I’ll post thoughts when I get to it 😉
Sabrina- I remember those talks! I thought that was a provocatively-titled book as well.
All the best on the Mdiv, and remember, you are there to get closer to GOD. It’s a extra to have the Mdiv. Take a deep breath, relax and enjoy it.
