JR Woodward (who I saw yesterday at the Missional Learning Commons) blogged a prayer by N.T. Wright that I have found profoundly helpful over the past few years. It’s an expansion of the “Jesus prayer” (Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me, a sinner) into a more holistic, Trinitarian prayer. It’s easy to memorize, and wonderful to pray slowly and meditatively several times in a row. Memorize and enjoy!

Almighty Father,
Maker of Heaven and Earth,
set up your Kingdom in our midst.

Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of the Living God,
have mercy on us sinners.

Holy Spirit,
Breath of the Living God,
renew us and all the world.
