what you have penned here has been on my heart (and somewhat in my actions although i have found resistance in myself and from others) for sometime now. a central core of christ centered community is the giving away of one's self. giving away of possessions, decisions, time, resources, talents and abilities, and so on. that is scary to do. but thankfully the street is not necessarily a one way street. we also can receive so much from those who we are in community with us that eventually the idea of giving and sacrificing does not seem that overwhelming or difficult to do.
